Heal from Chronic Pain WITHOUT SURGERY

May 27, 2023 by Anna Forliti

Are you suffering from chronic pain? If so, you are not alone. Millions of people suffer from chronic pain every day and many of them turn to surgery for relief. But what if there was another way? A way to heal without going under the knife or relying on medication? The good news is that there is! With the right posture and lifestyle changes, it is possible to reduce and even eliminate your chronic pain without surgery. In this article, we will explore how proper posture can help ease your discomfort and allow you to live a life free of chronic pain.

What is Chronic Pain and How Does it Affect People

Chronic pain is a type of persistent and ongoing pain that can last for months or even years. It can affect any part of the body, including the muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. People with chronic pain may experience a variety of symptoms such as sharp or stabbing sensations in the affected area, burning sensations, numbness, tingling, stiffness, and fatigue. It can be a source of constant stress and worry, as well as feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. People with chronic pain feel like their life has become unmanageable due to their condition.

Understanding the Connection Between Posture and Pain

When you have poor posture, your body is more likely to experience muscle strain, joint stiffness, and misalignment. All of these issues can lead to chronic pain and make it difficult or impossible to sit, stand or move without experiencing discomfort.

The good news is that with the right posture, you can alleviate your chronic pain in no time! Proper posture involves your body working as designed. This includes balanced muscles that are all able to perform their intended jobs and working together as a whole unit to support the body. When the posture is aligned, you are able to sit, stand and move without pain and limitation. When you maintain a healthy posture, it reduces stress on the joints and muscles which can reduce pain. Additionally, proper posture encourages good circulation so that oxygen and nutrients can reach the affected areas and help speed up the healing process.

Tips for Improving Your Posture to Help with Chronic Pain

  • Regularly do posture exercises to realign your posture and counter act daily activities or circumstances that may pull you out of alignment. Muscular balance and healthy function is essential for maintaining good posture as it helps to support your spine. Regularly aligning (and depending on your individual body) stabilizing, stretching, or strengthening these muscles will not only reduce pain, but also help to improve your posture over time.
  • Stand up and move around often. Sitting or standing in the same position for long periods of time can exacerbate chronic pain. To avoid this, make sure you stand up and move around frequently throughout the day. This will help to reduce the stress on your joints and muscles.
  • Wear healthy footwear. Look for shoes that have a wide toe box offering you toes space to spread out. Ideally have a flat sole (“zero drop”) that does not have toe spring and is flexible so you can feel the ground. Unhealthy shoes can lead to poor posture. Investing in comfortable shoes that support your foot alignment will help to keep your spine aligned and reduce strain on your body.
  • Maintain a gentle curve in your low back. If you have to sit for longer periods of time, such as while at a desk or driving, make sure you roll your pelvis forward keeping a gentle lumbar curve to help maintain good posture and reduce pressure on your spine. This will help to strengthen your back vs. using a lumbar support which does the work of supporting for you.
  • Practice mindfulness. Paying attention to your posture and correcting it when necessary is an important part of maintaining good posture. Being mindful of your posture throughout the day can help to reduce chronic pain and make it easier to keep good posture for extended periods of time.

Exercises That Can Help Alleviate Chronic Pain Symptoms

There are a variety of exercises that can help alleviate symptoms. For example, low-impact activities such as swimming and walking can help to gently stretch and strengthen the muscles without putting too much strain on the joints. Pilates, yoga and Postural Healing exercises can also be beneficial, as they focus on improving posture and developing core strength. Specific stretches that target the affected area can also help to reduce pain and stiffness. It is important to note, however, that any exercise should be done under the supervision of a medical professional. Click to watch my FREE EASY EXERCISES.
